Preamp for Live and Broadcasting Applications
FetHead Broadcast is an inline microphone preamp specially designed for use in challenging live environments. FetHead Broadcast provides 23dB of low-noise, high-quality gain that can be used with both dynamic and condenser microphones, as phantom power is transferred to the microphone.
Live and Broadcasting Environments
In broadcasting or live setups, a microphone signal often travels through long cables before reaching the mixing desk. When small microphone signals travel near power cables or dimmed light cables, audible signal interference is likely to be induced in the microphone cable. FetHead Broadcast amplifies the microphone signal before it enters the cable and significantly improves the signal-to-noise ratio, delivering a much higher quality signal to the mixer. A low-impedance output buffer allows for driving long cables (up to 3000 meters). Another advantage is that FetHead Broadcast doesn’t require power supplies or batteries.
In Use
Connect your microphone to the input XLR of FetHead Broadcast. On the opposite side, connect an XLR cable from FetHead Broadcast to the mixer/preamp. It is ready to use with all types of phantom power setups. FetHead Broadcast uses phantom power to drive its circuits but also provides enough phantom power to drive the connected microphone.
