The M81 is a versatile dynamic microphone for stage and studio use. It retains the controlled proximity effect, strong feedback rejection and articulate midrange associated with TELEFUNKEN's Dynamic Series, while using a smoother and flatter overall frequency response than the M80. This makes it especially useful for brighter vocals and guitar tones, as well as toms, brass, saxophone and other sources that benefit from added body without excessive high-frequency emphasis.
Sonic Character
The M81 combines a clear, defined midrange with a more restrained top end than the M80. The result is a balanced, full-bodied sound that works well on vocals, guitar amplifiers, percussion and instruments that can otherwise sound thin or overly bright.
Circuit Design
Its dynamic moving-coil capsule, supercardioid polar pattern and custom-wound T80 transformer provide high SPL handling, dependable off-axis rejection and a smooth 50 Hz-18 kHz response for a wide range of professional applications.
Construction
This Gold version combines the M81's rugged, touring-ready construction with a distinctive Gold finish. The microphone is designed and hand assembled in the USA.
